Our Center serves to establish and maintain a safe, empowering, and supportive center in Northern Nevada that addresses advocacy, education and services. By supporting Northern Nevada Pride, you are supporting this effort.
The Northern Nevada Pride is an annual pride parade and associated festival in Reno produced by Our Center. The festival has grown into one of northern Nevada's largest annual LGBTQ+ gatherings, combining visibility, celebration, and advocacy. The festival is held each September, as of 2023, at MidTown Reno.
History
Northern Nevada Pride traces its origins to smaller local Pride and parade events in the Reno area during the late 1980s and 1990s, gradually growing into a significant annual celebration of LGBTQIA+ culture, community and advocacy in northern Nevada. The first Northern Nevada Pride was held on July 26, 2014 as part of Artown. Originally held in Wingfield Park and Downtown Reno, the event now features a parade and festival in MidTown Reno, bringing together thousands of community members, performers, vendors, and supporters. The Pride event benefits northern Nevada's only LGBTQ+ Community Center, Our Center, after federal funding loss.

99 N. Virginia Street, Reno
Brüka Theatre presents William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, a magical odyssey to an enchanted isle as seen through the operatic mind of a psychedelic Renaissance Atomic Wizard, and rightful Duke of Milan. Wrapped up in Shakespear’s timeless romantic masterpiece are themes of power and justice, illusion and reality, and freedom and servitude, to name a few. Our adaption is rooted in futurism in design and style providing a unique content for the interplay of Shakespeare’s extraordinary character and actions.
Dave Anderson, one Brüka Theatre’s early instigators and director of many Brüka shows including Richard III, Macbeth, King Lear, co-founder of Laughing Owl Theatre Company, and currently teaching theatre at TMCC directs Shakespeare’s THE TEMPEST. Plays March 6 - 21, 2026.

A changeling, a fire, and the fatal cost of a tale.
In 1800s Ireland, the Cleary family are visited by a family friend named Jack Dunne, who specializes in the art of traditional Irish folklore. Upon noticing Bridget Cleary’s independence and her struggling marriage to Michael, he convinces Michael that Bridget has been replaced with a “sidhe”(pronounced “shee”) - an Irish fairy reminiscent of a witch, much to the horror of Bridget’s sister and children. This play is based on the historical account of Bridget Cleary’s accusation and blends fairy tales and folklore with historical events.

Learn how the Nevada Chapter of The Nature Conservancy is working to improve forest health – before catastrophic wildfires occur – by restoring the natural role of fire, strengthening forest ecosystems, enhancing community safety, and honoring Indigenous knowledge.

The Mysterious Case of the Missing Ring at RLT
Written by Janie Downey Maxwell
Directed by Bella Rose
The royal ring is missing, and the queen won’t sleep until the royal detectives (all 13 of them!) find it. You’ve never met a more eclectic and eccentric group all in one play — including Maximum Smarts and Agent 98 with their Umbrella of Silence; Wiley Jones and his bumbling assistant, Oliver; Ms. Scarlet (who carries a candlestick and lead pipe in her purse but is ironically “clue”-less!); Bob the Southern Sheriff with his invisible dog; Inspector Change with a proverb for every occasion; the Professor (who’s always right, of course); Nancy and Jamie (clever girl detectives); Kat, who’s afraid of germs and even her own shadow; two tedious note-taking detectives; and Gypsy Rose the Fortune Teller. As they scour the Queendom in search of the royal ring, the chatty maids follow the harried queen around while the devious butler spouts suspiciously evil laughs every time a clue goes awry. In this fast-paced, madcap mystery, you’ll find delightful comedy for all ages in every quirky character... and a surprise ending that rings true!

The Classix Series
Mendelssohn Violin Concerto
Like a great masterpiece shaped by time and intellect, the Reno Phil embarks on the pursuit of knowledge, where music unfolds with curiosity, discovery, and profound insight. At the heart of the evening is Nathan Amaral, the first prize winner of the 2024 Sphinx Competition, whose artistry illuminates Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto—a work of exquisite elegance and fiery virtuosity, as if the violin itself is searching for truth in every soaring phrase. The journey begins with Autumn Maria Reed’s Robin’s Eye View, a vivid and imaginative exploration of the world from above. The night reaches its pinnacle with Brahms’ Symphony No. 1, a work Robert Schumann once prophesied as part of Beethoven’s legacy, declaring that Brahms, wielding his “magic wand,” would reveal “wondrous glimpses into the secret world of the spirits.” From its stormy opening to its triumphant, hymn-like finale, the symphony wrestles with struggle and revelation, culminating in an exultant resolution—a testament to the brilliance that emerges when passion and intellect collide.

The project was started in 2023, and so far they’ve kept their promise of making it an annual thing.
Some repeat artists coming back every year to create new murals. And downtown is quickly filling up with art.
The official map claims that 73 new murals have been added, most from the three years of the festival but some in the previous decade or so.

Unfamiliar with Elko’s boots? Here’s the story. The town of Elko turned 100 in 2017. As part of the centennial celebrations, the Elko Arts and Culture Advisory Board tapped artists to help raise awareness about the area’s blossoming arts scene. The result: 36 striking hand-painted boots made of polyurethane resin and colorfully painted in tribute to Elko’s cultural diversity and history. Each Centennial Boot stands six feet tall and weighs 110 pounds.
Part of the fun is uncovering the meaning of each boot. Some are painted to commemorate the area’s Hispanic heritage, while others depict ranch and farm life. Others highlight the beauty of the nearby Ruby Mountains, while some show off Northeastern Nevada’s stunning landscapes and blue skies that seem to go on forever.
Once you see one, you absolutely have to see them all, and they’re tailor-made for social media photos or just capturing your time spent in Elko. Learn more about Elko’s arts and culture scene and our famous painted wall murals here.

It’s no secret that we love the outdoors in Reno Tahoe. With more than 300 days of sunshine each year, the opportunities to get outside are endless.
Long, summer days mean hikes in the foothills or along the Tahoe Rim Trail, mountain biking in some of the most epic terrain, or chilling (literally) at Lake Tahoe, whether on the beach or on the water.
Shorter days and colder temperatures are what really get us going. Did you know the Lake Tahoe region has the largest concentration of ski resorts in North America?
